No Tresspassing

In the village, I had heard about some ruins a short distance into the jungle. So I decided to check them out. I had spent the morning hacking my way through the underbrush following the sounds of a water fall. Then a ruined building burst into view with a lovely waterfall as its backdrop. However I also found a bodkin pointed bolt and a cocked crossbow pointed at my chest. The young owner of the crossbow would have been attractive, were it not for the fact that she looked deadly serious as she told me.
“Trespassers are not welcome. Now turn around and get out of here the way you came.”
The thought of that crossbow bolt buried in my unarmored chest encouraged me to do just that. I left. As I tramped back along the trail I had just hacked through the jungle, I wondered. “Who guards a ruin in the middle of a jungle? What was she hiding? Was she alone? How could I find out without getting myself killed?
